Jiajia: An intelligent Chinese human-like robot

You are about to watch  a mind-blowing video in which an intelligent Chinese human-like robot named as Jiajia has the ability to understand speech and read facial expression. The robot has developed by the University of Science and Technology of China.

Jiajia was asked by one of the visitors, “what Kind of skills do you have?”  The answered was “I can Talk with you. I can recognize faces. I can identify the gender and age of people standing in front of me” ooh Jiajia seriously! And yes the robot proved that and it clearly described the visitor’s facial expression by saying “you look beautiful when you smile.”

Lu Dongcai who’s the project manager argues that:

there are a few challenges about her. First she has to receive not only language but also facial expression… and give a natural response, so that you can see her intelligence.

This shows one thing, human will be replaced by robots sooner than later.
