My first impression when I first watched 24 featuring Jack Bauer was O.o look at him, he makes calls by his fingertip, that’s amazing! How could he do that? Is there any available tech or it’s just a lie? I did some research on Google, but unfortunately what I realized was that there is no available tech could do that. Directors use this fake tech just to plant more excitement on the hearts of viewers. -_-
But nowadays, it is possible to act like Jack Bauer. A new tech named as ‘Sgnl’ designed by Innomdle lab “enables you to answer phone calls through your fingertip. Simply place your fingertip to your ear while speak through the embedded microphone. Replace your existing watch strap with Sgnl and you’re done, whether you wear a classic watch or an Apple Watch, Samsung Gear, or Pebble Time.”
Sgnl allows you to receive calls while your phone is in your pocket, just raise your finger and place it on your ear, and receive your call without extra earphone. While you can receive calls via your fingertips, you can also speak via a microphone embedded in the Sgnl strap.
It is able to transmit high quality calls as its makers argue, your finger not only transmits the sound but it also blocks out background noise. So you can hear very clear voice in loud places without worrying about other people listening in.
Concerning users’ privacy while receiving calls during a meeting or in a public place, this amazing tech transmits calls directly to you ear. No one else would be able to hear the caller talk.
a strip makes receiving calls through fingertip a reality
Sgnl works via Bluetooth; this is how it transmits voice signal from your phone to the strap. It contains two technologies, an actuator unit that generates a body-conductible vibration with remarkably low consumption and an audio algorithm that selectively amplifies voice signals with proper wavelength modulation, asserted Innomdle lab.
